The Department of Agricultural & Resource Economics takes its majors in Agricultural Business Management on tours every semester to visit alumni and agribusiness professionals. The purpose of the tours is to help students explore career possibilities, to seek internship and career opportunities, and to expand their professional network. This year the students came to our farm to learn about our diversified crop operation and our livestock.
In addition to the tour of our farm, the students were also able to tour Farm Fresh. At Farm Fresh, the students learned about how they pack and store sweet potatoes. After the Farm Fresh tour, students had lunch and had a round robin Q&A session with agribusiness professionals where they were able to talk with that professional for 10 minutes about what they do and learn more about the industry.
“We are so glad that the next generation of agriculture students can come to our farm to learn,” said Reggie. “All of the students were able to take away some knowledge to help further their careers in agriculture.”
