Participants in the Poultry Production and Nutrition course directed by Dr. Richard Han of the US Soybean Export Council at North Carolina State University came to the farm to learn about our farming operation. The participants in the course are from China, where they are involved in the Chinese poultry industry. Throughout the course, the teams learn about the poultry industry in the United States. They learn about poultry housing, management, and several aspects that may give them ideas to improve the productivity of their poultry companies. The participants in the Poultry Production and Nutrition course also learn about soybeans while they are in the US. They toured the soybean processing facility in Fayetville and toured a broiler integration company.
Along with learning about our new turkey operation, the participants learned about our diverse row crop offerings at Strickland Farming. Dr. Han brings a group of students every other year. We enjoy having them here on the farm to teach them about agriculture in North Carolina and the United States. Garrett gave the tour this year and told the students about our farm.
